we shall not cease from exploration,
and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started
and know the place for the first time.
T. S. Eliot

Something about me

Marta Zanetti
(she/her)
I am a psychologist and a trainee at the CESIPc school and adopt a Constructivist Narrative Hermeneutic approach.

I practice in Padua and online.

In addition to my freelance psychology practice, I work as a psychologist at the domestic violence center in Padua, providing support to women and other identities escaping violence, and offering prevention and training programs for schools and universities.

I have also supported international students at the psychological services of the University of Padua (SCUP), and worked on community psychology projects with Granada Psicólogos in Spain. These experiences have deepened my understanding of adapting to new cultures and the emotional impact of being away from home.

My interest in gender issues and diverse cultural perspectives has influenced my personal and professional development. I strive to create a therapeutic environment that recognizes the complexity and intersectionality of social and cultural contexts.
Facing the challanges and possibilities of life abroad
"When we realize that there is never a single story about any place, we regain a kind of paradise".

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
Living abroad can be both exciting and challenging, presenting obstacles such as cultural differences, administrative issues, language barriers, and homesickness.

Psychological support can offer a valuable space to discuss and address these issues, helping you navigate your experiences and find new ways to feel more comfortable in your new environment.
In my experience as a non-native English speaking therapist, I believe in the importance of finding a mutual approach that works for both parties. To overcome the difficulty of explaining and understanding complex life experiences in a different language, I believe that both therapist and client collaborate to create a shared understanding and an effective communication.
My approach
"No one needs to paint oneself into a corner; no one needs to be completely hemmed in by circumstances; no one needs to be the victim of one's biography".

George Kelly
Constructivism represents a way of thinking and understanding, an approach that embraces and respects diverse worldviews.

It operates on the premise that there is not just one reality independent of individual experience, but multiple constructions and narratives, each valid in its own diversity and always subject to revision.

Therefore, each client is considered an expert in their own story. Constructivist therapy aims to develop alternative perspectives to help individuals better manage their issues, fostering a change in the perception of events.
My services
Individual psychotherapy centers on the person and their relationships, addressing how they face life's challenges. It helps when one feels stuck and cannot find new ways to manage their situation, offering support to explore alternative strategies and resume their life’s path.

The duration of the therapy cannot be predetermined, as each person is unique, with distinct needs and reasons for seeking help. Sessions are held weekly (or at an agreed frequency) and last about 50 minutes. They can take place in person at my office or online, depending on the needs.

I believe it is important to make psychological counseling as accessible as possible to those in need, which is why I offer reduced-rate sessions for students.
The group, by its nature, represents a multitude of perspectives. Therefore, I strongly believe in the group’s power to enhance processes of reinterpretation and rereading that are so crucial for change.

Group programs are designed around specific themes and involve about ten participants meeting weekly for 90 minutes. These sessions include activities for discussion and reflection, using body expression, theater, and creative techniques to facilitate processing and broaden perspectives through shared experiences.

For information on active group programs, please contact me.

PS: Proposals for themes or experiences of interest are welcome by email and will be considered for potential group programs.
